Ethereum Community Fund

Non-profit founded in 2018 building Web3 transparency and coordination infrastructure, including Pensieve, a decentralised knowledge base for community evidence and public memory.

Ethereum Community Fund (ECF) is a crypto-native non-profit that builds shared infrastructure for the Web3 ecosystem. Its work centres on transparency, accountability and information coordination: problems that grow acute as decentralised projects multiply and public scrutiny of them remains fragmented. The organisation's technical domains include blockchain, decentralised knowledge bases, information coordination platforms, transparency and verification tooling, and evidence-based reporting systems.

Its main product, Pensieve, is a decentralised knowledge base and coordination platform. It allows communities to surface issues, respond with evidence and keep a public record of project activity, giving users context when assessing accountable public goods projects. The underlying premise is that legitimacy does not grow in a black box; verification and public memory should be open and accessible.

ECF was founded in early 2018 with three founding member organisations from the Ethereum ecosystem: MakerDAO, Golem and Status.im. The organisation describes itself as mission-driven and values-based, oriented towards empowering communities to make informed decisions. Its verticals span Web3, cryptocurrency, decentralised finance, public goods funding and community governance, including DAOs. Further information is available at https://ecf.network/.
