Forgotten Empires

Forgotten Empires is a game development studio specialising in real-time strategy (RTS) titles. Founded in 2013, the company grew from a community modding project into a 100+ developer operation with studios in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Málaga, Spain. In 2023, it was acquired for $32.5 million.

The studio is known for its extensive work on the Age of Empires franchise, having contributed to over 20 products within the series. Its portfolio also includes contributions to other major strategy and simulation games such as Age of Mythology, Stellaris, and the Anno series, bringing the total number of projects in its library to more than 28.

As a full-service developer, Forgotten Empires partners with major publishers to deliver on established franchises within the entertainment and gaming verticals.
