About

In April 2023, RIVR emerged from ETH Zurich's Robotic Systems Lab as a spin-off with a bold vision: to revolutionize autonomous mobility through what they call Physical AI. The founders recognized that while digital AI had transformed industries, the physical world of logistics remained stubbornly analog and labor-intensive. They saw a gap in last-mile delivery, where getting packages and food the crucial final 100 yards to doorsteps remained one of the most challenging and expensive aspects of the supply chain.

From this insight, RIVR was born - combining neural networks with innovative wheeled-legged robots that can navigate real-world obstacles like stairs, cluttered spaces, and gates. The company's mission to give one human the power of 1,000 robots has attracted significant attention, with customers already demanding tens of thousands of units. RIVR is on track to generate more daily data than YouTube within four years, creating a powerful data flywheel for General Physical AI that could transform not just delivery, but how robots interact with our world.
