Zearn is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisation that develops digital mathematics curriculum for kindergarten through eighth grade. Founded in 2012, the company reaches approximately one in four elementary-school students and more than one million middle-school students across the United States through its primary product, Zearn Math.
The Zearn Math platform combines instructional video content featuring on-screen teachers with digital manipulatives, real-time feedback systems, and differentiated support built into every lesson. The curriculum is structured around the Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract pedagogical strategy and incorporates pause points for problem-solving and Tier 1 intervention. The platform comprises over 1,000 digital lessons covering every objective of K–8 mathematics. Individual teachers and classrooms can access Zearn Math free of charge.
Independent evaluation by Evidence for ESSA awarded Zearn Math a 'Strong' rating, the organisation's highest designation. Large-scale statewide analyses found that students who consistently used Zearn Math increased their mathematics scores 2.5 times more than comparable students who did not use the platform. The organisation operates with 51–200 employees and maintains a focus on making mathematics education accessible to all students.
