About

We're on a mission to make driverless vehicles a safe, reliable, and accessible reality. Founded in 2020 as a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Group and Aptiv, Motional combines decades of autonomous vehicle experience with the backing of major industry players. Our team dates back to some of the earliest AV pioneers - we were behind the world's first robotaxi pilot in Singapore and have completed over 100,000 rides in Las Vegas.

At Motional, we're developing SAE Level 4 autonomous vehicles for both ride-hailing and delivery services. We partner with major platforms like Lyft, Uber Eats, and Via to integrate our AVs into real-world transportation networks. Our IONIQ 5 robotaxi represents our next-generation vehicle platform, designed from the ground up for driverless operation. With locations across the U.S. and in Singapore, our team of engineers, researchers, and operators work together to build technology that can fundamentally improve road safety by eliminating human error.
