About

In 2014, Zoox was founded with a bold realization: the future of transportation shouldn't just be autonomous cars—it should be vehicles built from the ground up for a world without drivers. Traditional autonomous vehicles were retrofitting existing designs, but co-founders Tim Kentley-Klay and Jesse Levinson saw an opportunity to reimagine mobility entirely. They set out to create a purpose-built robotaxi that would fundamentally transform how people move through cities, designed specifically for AI to drive and humans to enjoy.

Today, as an Amazon subsidiary, Zoox has evolved from that founding vision into a company operating fully autonomous, all-electric robotaxis on public roads in Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Foster City. The company's bidirectional, four-wheel-steering vehicles carry up to four passengers with no steering wheel or traditional controls, featuring a custom safety system and seamless rider experience. From that initial spark of reimagining urban mobility, Zoox continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in autonomous transportation, making cities safer, cleaner, and more connected for everyone.
